Have you been intrigued by secret passageways you have seen in movies? If so, now you can have your own. I came across an interesting blog post from Laurie Manny, a Long Beach Realtor who was speaking at the INMAN Connect Conference I attended last week in San Francisco.
One company who creates these unique storage and passageway solutions is Creative Home Engineering based in Tempe, Arizona. Other configurations include a hidden storage area under a set of stairs…
… behind a false fireplace,
… and behind a wall cabinet.
These are great ways to hide valuables, or to just create a unique hidden retreat. Such a feature in your home should indeed add market value and would certainly make your house stand out from the crowd. Although it is easier to add these items during new home construction, they can be added as part of a renovation.
