Next Gen Brokerage

I have been giving some thought to what I call the “Next Gen Brokerage”.  To me this is a real estate brokerage that creates a totally immersive environment for consumers to help them get all the information they desire to make the decision to purchase a new home or investment property.  Having grown up in the industry around my family’s dinner table (i.e. my parents were realtors and ran their own brokerage), and later working as a management consultant and in industry for 20 years, and now I’m back selling real estate, of late I have been  thinking about what the real esate brokerage of the future will look like, to better service consumer needs through an appropriate use of technology.

At INMAN Connect in San Francisco last week I participated in the rountable brainstorming session of about 50 other agents and brokers, led by Sherry Chris, CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, and facilitated by the 1000 Watt Consulting guys.  The topic of what a high performing real estate brokerage of the future was discussed in some detail.  Two blogs are continuing the conversation at 1000 Watt Blog and Better Homes and Gardens Blog.  I think this should be interesting.
