I certainly aspire, and desire, to work with Clients.
Clients appreciate the commitment we make in trying to help them achieve their real estate related goals. Clients seek out and listen to our advice. Clients trust us. Clients know we are putting their interests before our own. Clients are willing to pay for good advice and assistance. Clients know relationships are important. Clients know we will take their call at 11pm, because we know it must be important or they would not be calling.
Customers are more transactional oriented. Customers are often looking for the best service rate. Customers are often short-term thinking. Customers do not fully trust their service provider, because they have not taken the time, do not care to take the time, or may not have had the opportunity, to really get to know their supplier. Customers do not really care to understand your service differentiators.
Check out this interesting post at Agent Genius. When I read it I thought this was ‘Deja Vu All Over Again!” since I have had similar conversations and thoughts over the years.
What do you think? As a home seller or buyer, do you care whether or not your Realtor thinks of you as a client or customer?
