Check out Yonge Dundas Square

Episode 261 of the Toronto Real Estate Musing daily video blog.

George O’Neill is celebrating Labour Day weekend at Yonge Dundas Square in the heart of downtown Toronto.

This public square was built several years ago as a place for public events such as concerts, markets and movie screenings. Wireless Toronto even offers free Wi-Fi in the space.

Yonge Dundas Square was one of the major pieces to the rejuvenation of Yonge Street, including renovations to Toronto Eaton Centre and the opening of 10 Dundas Street across the street. Like Toronto’s harbourfront, in the last decade there has been a concerted effort to make the downtown core a more pleasant area to work, live and play.

It’s said that 56 million people travel through the intersection of Yonge and Dundas each year, making Yonge-Dundas a bit like New York’s Time Square.
